Menninger Project

Currently, the Bahm Demolition firm is involved in tearing down 21 buildings on the old Menninger Hospital campus in Topeka, Ks. The Menninger Hospital was founded in 1919 and was known worldwide for its mental health care. In 2003, the Menninger foundation left Kansas and opened a new facility in Houston, Tx. In March of 2007, St. Francis announced it was purchasing the 132 acres of land at the former Menninger Clinic property to build a new health park. In May of 2008, Bahm Demolition began the process of demolishing most of the old buildings on these grounds. David Bahm, owner of Bahm Demolition, said 85 percent of the buildings would be recycled.
